Business Development

For the first time, David Maeir-Epstein, resource development consultant for nonprofits, will be giving his Grantwriting Course in Tel Aviv. David Epstein, MSSA, has worked in the field of fundraising and grantwriting for over thirty years, serving as independent organizational consultant for numerous nonprofit organizations in Israel and assisting his clients in raising over $17 million in the last nine years. He has taught courses in Resource Development for Welfare Organizations at Hebrew University's Baerwald School of Social Work.

Due to popular demand, we will be bringing the course to Tel Aviv for the first time. Past participants have given uniformly positive feedback, citing the courses as informative and compelling, teaching important skills, valuable training and giving indispensable practical advice for obtaining employment, advancement and enhancing professional skills for work in grantwriting and fundraising.

The course teaches essential skills such as how to write grant proposals, how to identify and work with foundations, and how to gain employment as salaried staff or freelancers. While the course does not promise employment, graduates are provided with information about the many openings in the field of grantwriting in Israel. Many graduates have subsequently entered the field or advanced their position.

Course Description: The course is conducted in English, with Hebrew terms explained for key words. The course will be three weekly meetings of four hours. Each session will be divided between lecture and workshop, during which work done by participants will be reviewed, critiqued and developed with the aim of honing grantwriting skills. Participants will receive pertinent reading material in preparation for each of the classes. Upon finishing the course graduates receive diplomas certifying their participation in the course.

Venue: The course will take place on Thursdays June 12, 19 & 26 from 16.00-20.00. The venue to be announced.

Cost: 1,050 NIS. There is an early-bird discount of 100 NIS for those who register and pay for the course in full by June 5. Members of Nefesh B'Nefesh, SAZF, the Yokneam Forum of Technical Writers (Elephant), AACI and affiliates of the UJIA receive an additional 50 NIS discount.
